Product Description
It is a sterile medical device used to remove air in the case of pneumothorax or fluid, such as in the case of pleural effusion, blood, chyle, or pus when empyema occurs from the intrathoracic space. It consists of a flexible catheter mounted on a sharp trocar that facilitates easy insertion through the chest wall with minimal trauma. Once in place, the trocar is withdrawn, leaving the catheter for continuous drainage and connection to an underwater seal or suction system. Made from biocompatible, medical-grade materials, the catheter ensures patient comfort and reliability during use. Catheter with Trocar:- Atraumatic, soft rounded, open distal end with two lateral eyes for non-traumatic insertion.
Cross side eyes to prevent tissue aspiration.
Proximal end is fitted with tapered connector for easy connection to drainage bottle.
X-ray opaque line provided throughout the length of catheter.
Marking on catheter is provided at from the distal end to help ascertain placement.
